Our merchandising team is laser-focused on ensuring we have the best products to meet and exceed the needs of our customers. To do that consistently, we need team members who understand customer needs and desires, and who want to help us deliver on them.
These teams are the backbone of Merchandising at Lowe’s. The Core team is focused on meeting the needs of customers by identifying emerging trends and cultivating vendor relationships to buy products that will drive profitable sales. In a Global role, the focus is sourcing teams and vendors across the world to seek out innovative products. Product development efforts are also key, as is maximizing Lowe's proprietary brand portfolio. Ultimately, these teams serve as central decision makers for determining what products and brands are featured in our stores.
Lowe’s Online Merchandising helps to drive traffic, sales, and customer satisfaction across our digital platform, paving the way for a best-in-class omnichannel customer experience. These associates collaborate closely with Global and Core Merchandising to develop diverse and compelling product assortments in a highly competitive online retail landscape. Additionally, Online Merchandising works in partnership with Lowe’s Supply Chain to provide effective fulfillment of in-demand products.
By identifying local opportunities, providing product expertise to the field and driving regional merchandising strategies, this team helps Lowe’s meet the needs of our customers by remaining competitive in each unique market. These roles act as a key connection point between Merchandising, Store Operations, and Pro Services, allowing us to deliver the best possible product assortment in every Lowe’s store.
Our merchandising department is on a fast-moving, upward track. Understanding customer desires and having a vision for how to fulfill those is a must. Team members should be comfortable thinking through competitive strategies, future possibilities and help others drive those plans into action.
It all comes down to business decisions. To predict which goods and services will appeal to customers, merchants should be ready to buy products, assess cost and manage massive merchandise assortments.
Delivering results is a big task, but it feels so good when you do it right. That’s why Lowe’s needs team members who can set aggressive goals, work to exceed them and then measure the outcomes.
